Your Vegan Home

Fitness has become a huge priority for me lately. After the birth of my son I got extremely overweight. Over the course of the last year and a half I have lost some weight and then gained back a little, never again reaching my all-time high. Now I am just sick of being overweight. I want my old self back. I have put eating healthy (other than the birthday cakes, which I only indulged in for a night) and working out on the forefront. This is part of the reason for my inconsistency with posting. I am having some difficulty with time management, but sacrifices must be made for my health. For my birthday my dad got my bike all fixed up. I went on a killer bike ride yesterday. After several hills I came upon the hill from hell. I had to get off of my bike and walked it and even that was not an easy thing to do. My legs were screaming by the time I got home and it felt so good and so alive. Now I am thinking of training for a bike trip. I would love to do one in Europe, but I am not sure my finances are up to that, but maybe one in CA. Anyone no of any vegan friendly bike tours. I won’t be ready for about a year of so, but have always wanted to do this. Heck, maybe that should be my calling, doing bike tours that are vegan friendly up and down the CA coastline. Hmmm, maybe I will just abandon my 13+ years of advanced education. Okay maybe that is a “in my spare time” kind of dream. The good news in life, I have lost 5 lbs. The bad news, I feel extremely crunched for time and this has made me excessively cranky lately. I really need (okay I know using the term need is a cognitive therapy no no) to start meditating, but in a way that actually causes more internal stress on my already jam packed schedule.

  1. Fitness, like healthy eating, should be a lifetime commitment for best results. But we all go off the ‘wagon’ at times, that’s part of being human… I am proud of you for what you are doing, Cindy. You should be proud of yourself too. I know it can’t be easy as you have so many other things (i.e. being a mom and wife!) on your plate…
